Chu May Paing Gives Keynote Talk at How to re:member: Longing for Inclusive Remembrance Culture in Myanmar

Chu May Paing (Cultural, Phd Candidate)Ìýgave a talk titled "Images as Memorial Objects" as one of the keynote talks for the two-day event "How to re:member: Longing for Inclusive Remembrance Culture in Myanmar" organized and curated by HelenaCing Deih Sian, a Chin German MA in Architecture graduate. The event took place in person and hybrid at the Open Society Foundation in Berlin over the course of two days including workshops, art exhibits, film screenings, and group discussions, and Chu gave her talk virtually. The talk discussed the theoretical approaches to what counts as image and how images, in their various material and abstract forms, end up becoming world making objects with many affects embedded in them for those of us traveling through the diaspora.
