Advisors: Mark Gross & Tom Yeh

Jeeeun Kim isa fourth-year PhD student at theSikuli Laband theCraft Tech Lab.

While seeking the gap between the physical and the real world, Kim hopes to seamlessly interpolate an aperture from conceptual design thinking to virtual models to physical artifacts. She is developing analgorithm that assigns intelligence to the fabrication machineto open a communication channel with humans as designers. Kim also implements novel interfaces to provide designers fluid fabrication experiences that applies their emerging design mind andunpredictable organic input over time, pushing the lower/upper boundaries of fabrication andincrementally augmenting the physical world we live in.
