We are beginning the next round of competitions for the Foreign Languages and Area Studies Fellowship for Summer 2014 and academic year 2014-2015. In order to give students an opportunity to learn more about the fellowship and the application process as well as to field any questions students may have, we are holding an information session on Thursday, November 21, at 1:00 p.m., in the CAS Conference Room.

FLAS fellowships administered by the Center for Asian Studies are awarded competitively to graduate students studying modern Asian languages. The award offers up to $9,000 in tuition and fees and a stipend of $7,500 per semester in the academic year, and in the summer, the award is up to $5,000 in tuition and fees and a stipend of $2,500.

Please note that the academic year 2014-2015 fellowship is contingent on receipt of funds from the U.S. Department of Education.

We look forward to seeing you at this meeting and to receiving your applications for this fellowship.
