Are you studying Japanese, Chinese, Hindi or any subject related to Japan, China or India?聽 Are you interested in teaching or simply sharing your knowledge about Asia with school-age children?聽 Earn one CU upper division credit hour teaching about a country of your interest to 1st and 2nd graders! Build your resume whether you are planning to teach, apply for a teaching position abroad or continue your studies at a graduate school.
The Center for Asian Studies is accepting applications for our Spring 2014 internship, 鈥淚t鈥檚 Elementary鈥� Service Project. This is an opportunity for undergraduates to learn about outreach in K-12 education as they go into elementary school classrooms to give present lessons on Japanese, Chinese, or Indian culture and language.
Interns will receive one upper-division credit for a minimum of 45 hours of service, 25 of which will be in the classroom. We are looking for undergraduate students with knowledge of Japanese, Chinese, and Indian languages and cultures. Interns must have at least two three-hour blocks of time available during the week between school hours (8am-3pm), and they must have access to reliable transportation.
乐播传媒 will gain professional skills in communication and organization, an opportunity to make a difference in a child鈥檚 life by introducing them to Chinese, Japanese, or Indian language and culture, and potential contacts for recommendation for future job opportunities.
