The Center for Asian Studies is offering a 2-credit internship at the locally-based, nationally-renown Rowman & Littlefield Publishers to an undergraduate student with an interest in Asia.

The intern will assist the History, International Studies, and Geography acquisitions group with a variety of tasks, including contacting scholars for endorsements and reviews, online research, and data entry. The intern will also have an opportunity to learn about the big picture of academic publishing by attending editorial board meetings and editorial planning meetings.

The internship will begin the first week of classes and will run through the last week before finals. It will require six hours per week for a total of 90 hours over the course of the semester.

This opportunity is open to undergraduate students majoring in Asian Studies, Chinese, or Japanese, or other disciplines such as History or International Affairs with an concentration on Asia. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 30 hours of college-level coursework with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00 before the start of the fall semester.

Applications will be reviewed by the internship supervisor at Rowman & Littlefield, and finalists will be interviewed during the week of finals in Fall 2013.
