In this course, students will receive foundational knowledge and understanding of contemporary Korean society and culture by examining the structures of Korean mass media industry and analyzing various types of Korean media, including K-pop, K-dramas, and K-films. Additionally, students will also study how the Korean mass media system has evolved, developed, and expanded its influences over the years as a transnational cultural force. This course will meet on Wednesdays from 2:00 until 4:30 p.m.
