The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering at the 乐播传媒 Boulder is welcoming two new faculty members for the 2022-2023 academic year. Meet the team and see why we're excited about these听talented听new hires:

Associate Professor Aditi Bhaskar

Aditi Bhaskar is joining the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering as an Associate Professor in January 2023.听

Dr. Bhaskar specializes in changes to water resources that accompany urban development, with a focus on interactions between streams, groundwater, stormwater, and urban irrigation.听 She received a ScB in Geology-Physics/Math from Brown University and a PhD in Environmental Engineering from University of Maryland, Baltimore County.听

Dr. Bhaskar was a trainee of the National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Traineeship (IGERT) in 鈥淲ater in the Urban Environment鈥� at University of Maryland, Baltimore County.听 Dr. Bhaskar also served as a National Science Foundation Earth Sciences Postdoctoral Fellow, which took her to the U.S. Geological Survey in Reston, Virginia.听

Before joining CU Boulder, Dr. Bhaskar was a faculty member at Colorado State University.听 Dr. Bhaskar is a recipient of the National Science Foundation CAREER award and serves on the Board of Directors of the Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Sciences, Inc.

Assistant Professor Amelia Celoza

Amelia Celoza is a new assistant professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Architectural Engineering.

Amelia earned her BSE in Civil Engineering from Arizona State University and her MS in Civil Engineering from Stanford University, focusing on Sustainable Design and Construction. Prior to starting her PhD, she worked as a construction contracts manager on large manufacturing projects. She earned her PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2022.

While at UT, she worked as a graduate research assistant for the Construction Industry Institute. Her PhD focused on the contractual challenges faced in the architectural, engineering, and construction industry as more collaborative technologies are implemented to manage project information.

Amelia鈥檚 research interests include information management in the built environment, visualization and collaboration technologies, and building information modeling. She is excited to work with students to improve how projects in the built environment are designed, constructed, and operated.
