The American Bar Association House of Delegates approved a new policy urging the Federal Government to prioritize funding and staffing tribal water rights settlements. The policy centers on tribal sovereignty and the necessity of water to fulfill that sovereignty, provide for economic development, and advance well-being in tribal communities. The resolution and report, co-authored by Acequia Assistance Project Director Gregor MacGregor, as part of a working group of Native American Resources and Water Resources Committees members.Â
