Ruth Jabet of Bahrain won听gold in the Olympic race with a time of 8:59.75.听Kenyan Hyvin Kiyeng Jepkemoi took the silver in 9:07.12.听听
On Tuesday evening, Jenny Simpson听(Econ, PolSci鈥�09) became the first U.S. woman to medal in the 1,500-meter race. Simpson, 29,听took bronze听with a time of听4:10.53.听Just a few strides ahead of her听was听Faith Chepngetich Kipyegon from听Kenya, who听won gold with a time of 4:8.92听and Genzebe听Dibaba of听Ethiopia who took silver in听4:10.27.听
