On Dec. 1聽Kristin Bugbee聽(PolSci鈥�07) and fianc茅聽James Hathorn聽(Law, MBA鈥�11) will marry in Durham, N.C. Kristin works for Duke University in development and James works for Metabolon, a startup company.

Since graduating聽Meredith Clements聽(Phil鈥�07) spent several months in rural Tanzania helping create a self-sustainable project for disadvantaged women. In June 2008 she started as assistant editor of the聽Sun Sentinel.聽She works as editor of the weekly section, which publishes a magazine-format paper for Broward and Palm Beach Counties. She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

On Anna Maria Island, Fla., couple Jen Kuck and聽William Hensley聽(Fin鈥�07) were married in April. William is a credit underwriter at Flatirons Bank. The couple celebrated with a two-week trip to Italy.

CU graduates聽Mary Isgro聽(IntlAf鈥�07) and聽Tom McDonald聽(Psych鈥�06) will marry Sept. 28 at Chatfield Botanical Gardens in Littleton, Colo. Mary is an international tour consultant and Tom is a product development manager.

In May 2011聽Christina Bojanowski聽(Comm鈥�08) moved to Los Angeles and has worked on multiple national commercials for the Tennis Channel, worked for TV shows broadcast on Bravo, TLC and the Food Network and served as an editor. Christina is a production coordinator for Food Network鈥檚聽Cupcake Wars. She writes, 鈥淚 am humbled and blessed to be where I am thus far in my journey here in Hollywood.鈥�

A founder of the Unreasonable Institute,聽Daniel Epstein聽(Phil鈥�08) announced in spring a new program called Unreasonable at Sea. The program is for technology entrepreneurs who desire to take their ventures into new international markets. It is made up of teams that use technology to solve social and environmental challenges of this century, all while traveling on a ship to more than 14 countries in 100 days. Daniel lives in Boulder.

In June聽James Nickerson聽(Psych鈥�10) married Talmai Aguierre in Silver City, Colo. The couple lives in Boulder.

After graduating a semester early聽Jamie Roberts聽(Jour鈥�11) moved to Quepos, Costa Rica, to become vice president of MidWorld Costa Rica, an adventure park nestled the country鈥檚 tropical jungle. She oversees the park, sometimes even working as a photographer on the ziplines or guiding tours. In her spare time she likes to travel to see the rest of the country with her camera. 鈥淚 believe in taking full advantage of everything Costa Rica has to offer, and it鈥檚 not uncommon to find me doing some crazy activity, like bungee jumping or waterfall rappelling,鈥� she writes. One of her photos appeared in the June聽Coloradan聽in the 鈥淟eafing through summer鈥� feature.

UNAVCO promoted聽Matthew Beldyk聽(MCompSci鈥�11) to software engineer II. The company is a nonprofit university-governed consortium that facilitates geosciences research and education. Matthew lives in Longmont, Colo.

Boulder resident聽Daniel Omasta聽(PolSci鈥�11) volunteers with CU-Boulder鈥檚 Alumni Association maintaining the association鈥檚 LinkedIn Sustainability Group. He is a principal at Strategic Resource Solutions Consulting.聽

Following his May commission with the U.S. Marine Corps聽Steven Gore聽(CivEngr鈥�12) will head to basic school training in January 2013. In the meantime he has traveled to England to visit family and will go to Peru to see Machu Picchu, Wyoming to climb and Nepal to hike near Annapurna.

Accomplishing his dream of moving back to California after graduating CU,聽Esteban Hernandez聽(Jour鈥�12) relocated to Los Angeles this summer. He blogs for the web show 鈥淲hat鈥檚 Trending鈥� in Hollywood, covering pop culture news.

Cassandra Hickman聽(Jour鈥�12) is a fifth-generation graduate of CU. Her great-great-grandmother, great-grandparents, grandparents and father graduated from the university. Cassandra writes that the count for graduating members of their family thus far is 23. She lives in Boulder.

Since graduation聽Christopher Kennedy聽(Jour鈥�12) writes he is catching up with family and old friends. He is interviewing at various live music organizations in Washington, D.C. 鈥淣othing cemented in terms of employment so far, but I鈥檓 still optimistic,鈥� Christopher writes.

For two years聽Christie Sounart聽(Jour鈥�12) worked as student assistant for the聽Coloradan, writing feature stories, profiles, Class Notes and news stories. Upon graduating in May, she served as interim assistant editor for the magazine for seven weeks. She then traveled to Costa Rica in July for the remainder of the summer to see the splendor of the country and visit her friend聽Jamie Roberts聽(Jour鈥�12). Christie lives in Arvada, Colo.

The summer after spring graduation聽Andrew Tycksen聽(MechEngr鈥�12) went on a two-week mission trip to Cambodia to help a village that was previously settled on a minefield. He taught and played with children who attended a nearby school. Since returning from Cambodia, Andrew works as a mechanical engineer for Electric Equipment & Engineering. The company designs and builds power equipment for such telecommunication companies as Verizon and T-mobile. He lives in Arvada, Colo.
