Global investment manager INTECH Investment appointed聽Richard Yasenchak聽(Mktg鈥�92) client portfolio manager in West Palm Beach, Fla. In this role he serves as an investment expert for client and consultant relations in the U.S. and globally.

Peter Hommeyer聽(Econ鈥�92) was hired as product specialist for Whitebox Advisors, an asset management company in Minneapolis. He has more than 20 years of investment industry experience and聽 will focus on improving investor experience.

The CU-Boulder International Film Series, run by聽Pablo Kjolseth聽(Hum鈥�92), went digital this fall. Pablo says he waited as long as he could before using digitized film but he had to keep up with the rapidly evolving industry. The series has not abandoned 35mm films however. Catalent Pharma Solutions appointed聽Jennifer Mitcham聽(PhDMCDBio鈥�92) as director of business development for antibody-drug conjugates in biologics. She did her postdoctoral research at Immunex Corp and received her bachelor鈥檚 in biochemistry and biophysics from Texas A&M.

Real estate attorney聽K. Bradley Rogerson聽(PolSci) joined Hanson Bridgett in San Francisco as counsel. He represents clients in real estate, finance and business transactions.

Portland, Ore., resident聽Marcus Young聽(Engl鈥�92) joined the nonprofit Central City Concern (CCC) as its social enterprise project manager. He oversees the development, execution, operations and sourcing for Central City Coffee, a wholesale coffee roasting business. Central City Coffee provides on-the-job training for CCC鈥檚 formerly homeless clients. Marcus has a decade of experience in specialty coffee product development, quality control, purchasing, business development, wholesale and retail sales. He is a U.S. Barista Competition head judge and writes about specialty coffee.

James A. Hansen (AeroEngr; MS鈥�93) was a recipient of the Flemming Awards Commission鈥檚 2015 Arthur S. Flemming Award, which honors men and women who have offered exceptional service to the federal government for 3-15 years. At the U.S. Naval Research Academy in Monterey, Calif., James鈥� tropical cyclone sortie program calculates when and how ships and aircraft should evaluate areas threatened by severe storms.

Benjamin McPhail (Engl) is program director of The Colorado Sound, a radio program on 105.5 FM that debuted in February and serves the Front Range and eastern plains of the state. The station plays an eclectic blend of music from Johnny Cash to My Morning Jacket. Benjamin previously served as music director for KUNC radio.

Mindy Reaves Sink (Jour) has released a new edition of her moon guidebook to Denver, Boulder and Colorado Springs. She has been writing about the Rocky Mountain region for years as a journalist, including more than 10 as an assistant to the national correspondent at the Rocky Mountain Bureau of the New York Times. She explores Denver with husband Mike and daughter Sophie as much as possible and is聽constantly thinking of the stories she will tell about their experiences.

With more than a decade of experience in the coffee industry, Marcus Young (Engl) joined Boot Coffee and SupplyShift in San Rafael, Calif., as a senior trainer and quality advisor at Boot Coffee鈥檚 campus and SupplyShift鈥檚 training lab. He helps connect coffee roasters, trade houses and certification bodies to SupplyShift鈥檚 cloud-based platform for managing supply chains.

Denver author and illustrator聽Stan Yan (Acct), a former stockbroker best known for his zombie caricature illustrations, will be trying to help parents of fearful kids sleep this fall with a reading of his new bedtime picture book, There鈥檚 a Zombie in the Basement, and an interactive monster drawing demo. Stan decided to become a full-time cartoonist in 2005.

Last fall, Phillip De Leon (MElEngr; PhD鈥�95) was named associate dean of research and doctoral studies at the New Mexico State University College of Engineering. Phillip has been with NMSU since 1996 and was the first recipient of the John and Tome Nakayama Professorship in Engineering for Teaching Excellence. He has published 70 papers in international journals and has four U.S. patents.

In June, Wooden McLaughlin, an Indianapolis-based law firm, announced that Mark Boos (Law) was recognized in Chambers USA: A Guide to America鈥檚 Leading Lawyers in Business. Mark and his wife, Carly, have three children.

George Brauchler聽(Econ, PolSci; Law鈥�05), district attorney for Colorado鈥檚 18th Judicial District and a colonel in the Colorado National Guard, announced his run for state attorney general. In August he accepted the Freedom Award from the Department of Defense, the highest recognition of employers for their support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. George and wife Marcia have four children.

After working聽for 17 years聽as executive assistant聽to CU Boulder鈥檚 dean聽of engineering and聽applied science,聽厂丑补谤辞苍听笔辞飞别谤蝉聽(Comm) is in a聽new position at the CU聽ATLAS Institute as senior聽assistant of partnership聽engagement. She lives in聽Superior, Colo.

In April, Jeff Wieland (EngrPhys) joined the Minneapolis-based law firm Moss & Barnett, where he specializes in construction, commercial and public procurement litigation.

NOS (disorder, not otherwise specified) is the latest book from poet Matthew Cooperman (MEngl) and his wife, Aby Kaupang. It is just one of many books written by Matthew, an English professor at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

James Hansen (AeroEngr; MS鈥�93) is superintendent of the marine meteorology division of the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Monterey, California. With more than 10 years of civilian federal service, James directs research and development in marine meteorology and atmospheric sciences. He leads a team of 120 and oversees an annual budget above $35 million.

Robb Jeffrey (EnvDes, Mktg) was accredited as a 鈥淐ertified Cicerone,鈥� for his professional knowledge of beer. Robb began his beer career at the Coors Brewing Company while attending CU. He spent time at Miller Brewing Company, and is now celebrating his twelfth year at Anheuser-Busch as a training specialist. He lives in St. Louis, Missouri.聽
