Witnessing his mother’s trial for exposing fellow Jews to the Nazis, Baruch Posner swears never to return to Germany. A letter, via the Red Cross, reaches him in New York. From Gemma, it draws him back to Berlin to join her in exploring the newly opened Nazi archives, which hold information about their parents. What’s more,Ìýin the cellar of his former living quarters, the Hotel Bogota, he finds the source of his mother’s downfall.Ìý
