Dr. Bruce Mandt is an Assistant Dean in the Graduate School and Director of the Postdoctoral Office and the Career Development Office at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Denver|Anschutz Medical Campus (CU Denver/Anschutz). Bruce’s primary function is to ensure that CU Denver/Anschutz provides a supportive and effective training environment where graduate students and postdoctoral fellows can acquire the professional skills and experiences requisite for successful career transitions. Bruce approaches this mission through the lens of collaboration and works to engage students, postdocs, faculty, and staff in the career development opportunities offered by his offices. These specific activities include developing and facilitating workshops, identifying and building experiential opportunities, providing individual coaching, overseeing management of career development resources, and engaging university stakeholders in building supportive policies. Bruce also holds a secondary appointment as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the CU Anschutz Department of Medicine, Division of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. Prior to his current position, Bruce was a Research Assistant Professor in the CU Denver Psychology Department, where he conducted behavioral pharmacology research, taught undergraduate courses, and served as program coordinator for an institutional undergraduate T34 training grant. Bruce’s education includes a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from CU Anschutz, and postdoctoral training in neuropsychopharmacology from CU Denver. In addition to his roles at the university, Bruce also currently serves on the Association of American Medical Colleges Group on Research, Education, and Training steering committee and on the National Postdoctoral Association’s Resource Development Committee.
