Anthropology is the study of people, both ancient and modern, in their cultural, biological and environmental contexts. 乐播传媒 of anthropology learn to appreciate biological, social, and cultural diversity throughout human history, to understand the meaning of human biological and cultural development, and learn what it is to be human.
The Education Minor provides a deep study into how political, cultural, social and historical dynamics shape both policy and practice in education, as well as opportunities to focus on particular areas of education as a field of study and practice.

English majors explore every major genre of English and American literature, as well as brand new fields of study. From Anglo-Saxon literature to digital media studies, from the earliest English novels to contemporary graphic novels, faculty and students work to advance an understanding of the English Language鈥檚 cultural and literary history.
Provides students with foundational knowledge and skills for English teaching while also incorporating the broader perspectives of culture, language use and language learning.

The Leadership & Community Engagement major prepares ethical, skilled leaders committed to addressing complex public challenges in our nation and across the world. Through this program, students develop a deep conceptual understanding of theories of leadership, public policy and social change.

The Political Science major offers instruction in the scientific study of politics and provides students with the skills necessary for a lifetime of inquiry, engagement and analysis. Courses explore various facets of the political world, including the fields of American government and politics, comparative politics, public policy, political theory, empirical theory and methodology, and international relations.
The Licensure Program prepares students to teach grades 7-12 by exploring instructional methods specific to their content areas, examining the social foundations of education, and learning specific strategies to meet all students鈥� needs in today鈥檚 classrooms.

The Sociology major focuses on the scientific study of human social behavior, specifically looking at how society influences individuals, and how individuals influence society. 乐播传媒 explore a large array of social topics and phenomena using the sociological imagination.
The certificate in Care, Health and Resilience prepares undergraduates for working in the helping professions: nursing, medicine, counseling, teaching, community services, ministry, emergency management and related fields. It emphasizes the practices and knowledge expected of paid care providers, ranging from the ability to nurture clients' physical, emotional and social well-being to helping people thrive despite life-altering circumstances. It also addresses the experiences and challenges of professional caregivers, and it advances one of the campus鈥檚 three strategic imperatives, which is to "Positively Impact Humanity."

By examining how race and the interrelated categories of ethnicity, gender, class, indigeneity and sexuality impact the lives of people, the Department of Ethnic Studies encourages students to look at their inherited/political/social/cultural positions in society to create a new social reality in an ever-changing global society.
The Animals and Society certificate builds on a rapidly growing interdisciplinary field devoted to the critical examination and evaluation of the relationships between humans and nonhuman animals, whether historical or contemporary, factual, fictional, or symbolic, beneficial or detrimental.
