OIT Finance and Business Operations(FBO) supports the mission and vision of OIT, the campus, and the University with high-quality administrative and financial services. As part of that support, this position will be responsible primarily for the financial analysis of key OIT programs and will assist OIT managers and directors in determining budgets and resources available to enable them to provide quality service to the campus.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Maintain and reconcile our Microsoft Access reporting database.
  • Manage general fund position budgeting for all of OIT. .
  • Work with the Director to develop, implement and continuously refine OIT financial constructs and organizing principles and resulting reports/analyses.
  • Find and resolve problems within financial activity.
  • Collect revenues for OIT’s fee-for-service programs.

  • Provide support to OIT directors and managers on high-level and complex issues involving OIT programs.
  • Assist in determining annual budget needs and in identifying any potential alternative sources of funding.
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Access and Excel functionality to illustrate, analyze, and model fiscal concepts and financial trends.
  • Apply appropriate budget principles to develop “what if” budget scenarios.
  • Ensure directors and managers are aware of budget changes, overages or available fund balances.

  • Primary contact for the Office of Contracts & Grants (OCG) and Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA).
  • Maintain awareness of, and communicate, changing fiscal rules.
  • Track all OIT grants.
  • Use ERA system to gather all pertinent information for grants and cost-share projects.

  • Create and communicate rates for OIT fee-for-service offerings.
  • Act as a resource for strategic, policy or compliance questions and assist with audit requests.
  • Complete annual submissions for CCO and BFP for OIT fee-for-service programs within portfolio.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, natural/social sciences, or a related field. Additional years of relevant experience as described here an below may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • At least three years of experience in accounting or finance.

What You Will Need

  • Excellent skills in productivity software, particularly MS Excel, Access, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience and demonstrated success working with departmental staff.
  • Ability to problem-solve complex reconciliations and to independently to resolve issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of fund accounting principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of university, state, and federal rules pertaining to financial and budgetary activity.

What We Can Offer

Salary range for this professional staff position starts at $65,000.
