Moving Image Archives (CINE 3043) students from the department of Cinema Studies & Moving Image Arts will screen two short programs of film and video from the University Libraries Rare and Distinctive Collections.听

Members of the CU Boulder community are invited to attend the screenings on April 19 and April 26 starting at 7:00 p.m. in room 1B20 of the Visual Arts Complex.

These screenings are short programs of educational film, home movies, scientific research footage and experimental shorts. Each of the selections were digitized and preserved by the听Libraries Digital Media Services听with funding from a grant from the听.

鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting to share our archival collections with different audiences,鈥 said听Jamie Wagner, moving image archivist with the Libraries. 鈥淭he class really offers a unique professional experience for Cinema Studies students.鈥

About the grant

This three-year grant is part of a听collaboration between the department of Cinema Studies and the Libraries听to explore curriculum-building for a CU Boulder certificate program focused on media archiving and preservation geared towards undergraduate students. This work has resulted in the curriculum for CINE 3043.
