Have you had a professor who’s gone above and beyond to make learning accessible and engaging? Maybe they’ve created their own course materials or shared resources that made your life easier and cheaper. The University Libraries are looking for CU educators who’ve made a real difference by using Open Educational Resources (OER). Nominate an instructor who has utilized an OER in their courses for the 2024 Open Educator Award.

The Open Educator Award recognizes educators who demonstrate exemplary use of OER in their classrooms or teaching practice. Nominations are due by midnight on March 1, 2024.

OER are free-to-use learning materials that anyone can adapt and share. They can be everything from full courses and textbooks to videos, tests and software. With OERs, you can easily access course materials from day one, without expensive textbooks. They’re about equity, ensuring every student has the same access to resources. And they let educators get creative and innovative with their teaching methods.

The 2024 Open Educator Award is sponsored by CU Boulder Student Government and the University Libraries.
