Franklin Maharaj was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Switzerland, and got a B+ on his 6th grade science fair project. He was president of his college's Beekeeping Club and survived the jungles of Costa Rica while doing field work in plant biophysics. Franklin is currently conducting research on anthraquinone redox properties and their potential applications for energy storage.
