My interest is in the social meaning of language variation and change, particularly in Spanish and English. I research issues of language contact and bilingualism, linguistic variation, code-switching, and morphosyntactic change using sociolinguistic and variationist methods. My projects have focused mainly on Spanish of the American Southwest and Chilean Spanish.
