I was a doctoral student in the field of ESL/Bilingual Special Education. Previously, I was a bilingual special education teacher in Colorado鈥檚 public school system and Denver Health鈥檚 Hospital Psych Adolescent Department. My research interests are in the areas of Literacy, Positive Behavior Supports, and Culturally Responsive Teaching. I continue to use this research in helping to address the disproportionate representation of culturally and linguistically diverse students in special education.
