Department of Linguistics

I earned my Master’s in Linguistics in Spring 2023 after coming from an undergraduate background in creative writing and linguistics with a little bit of data science. My research interests include linguistic anthropology, digital language and communication, pedagogy and language instruction practices, and increasing the accessibility of academia to external audiences. I have previously done work on the language ideologies of trans-exclusive radical feminism and on name avoidance practices involving Donald Trump during his campaign and election in 2016. The latter project received a LURA award in 2021 and was expanded into a thesis.
