Department of Linguistics
I am a PhD student in the Department of Linguistics, with a Master鈥檚 in Linguistics with a sociolinguistics/anthropology focus. My main research interests are: internet/online discourse and fandom culture. I am particularly interested in authenticity, fandom communities of practice, and gender and race ideologies (and enregisterment) as represented in sports entertainment discourse. Other fields and topics that I have engaged with are semiotics, anthropology, discourse analysis, politics, and third-wave feminism.聽
