Ula is an anthropologist and linguist by training, educator at heart, and outdoor adventures enthusiast in her free time. Her work is ethnographically rooted and her research interests include language ideologies, raciolinguistics, endangered language preservation and documentation, and linguistic landscapes. She has worked with Miriwoong and Rapa Nui languages, and, more locally, with Hispanic communities in the San Luis Valley in Colorado. She is currently pursuing an MA in Hispanic Linguistics and teaching Spanish courses at the University.
