In a film framed as a bedtime story, Max searches for treasure on his journey around a lake, through the trees, and up into the mountains. Max finds clever ways to overcome these obstacles and view them from new perspectives. The story begins with the discovery of a treasure map, which tells Max where he needs to go to find his treasure. When max reaches the lake, he discovers an abandoned Pirate Ship. He is not scared of pirates because they are all “dead in the water.” The lake is challenging due to its large size, and Max requests an aerial view from an overflying plane. No luck. The journey continues as Max makes his way to some dark and scary trees, where he can fight off any monsters with a new stick weapon he’s found. Finally, the journey ends with the location of the treasure chest deep within the mountains. Tired from the trip and exhausted from the “book” ending before bedtime, Max happily goes to bed.
