The Catalyst EP live set a filmed live performance of the three original tracks that will make up the debut EP for my music project, FLYN. This is my first time experimenting with this performance style and exploring live performance capabilities through Ableton. The incorporation of live instrumentation in electronic music performances has always captivated me and has been something I’ve wanted to explore with FLYNN from the project’s conception. The three tracks, “Beacon,” “Weightless,” and “Catalyst,” are a blend of progressive organic houses, each with its unique energy and journey and each with a special place in my heart. I’m excited to share this work and my music with you all, and I hope you all enjoy it. Thank you to Logan Flynn for the fantastic video work and to Chris Weir and Gunter Jones for all the support and guidance with my music along the way.

Audio description
I would describe my sound as a progressive organic house because of the structure and choice of sounds and instruments. Progressive because the tracks evolve over a long period of time, gradually building to their crescendo with an emphasis on the trance-like element of the groove throughout, with sparkling melodies from synthesizers. Organic because of the choice of samples that I like to use for all of my percussion (lots of shakers, bongo hits, or other elements that are clearly recorded from real instruments instead of programmed electronically) and the inclusion of guitar. And house because of the kind of groove that the thumping, four on the floor, kick drum creates. My music is designed to either be pumped through a bumping sound system at a club or festival or to be contemplated in a more relaxed environment because of the depth of production. These songs get me out of my head and lost in the groove of intricate percussion but build into beautiful, uplifting soundscapes with melodies that bend and morph. They leave me feeling exhilarated and ready to dance all night long.
