Fast Fashion directed by Megan May is a documentary style film surrounding the deadly impact of social media in correspondence to the clothing industry. The film at its core discusses how social media has created a bubble and blind the world to the dangers of over consumption. Social media pages and influencers create a persona that being on trend will make consumers' lives fuller and lead to more success in every way. The documentary lightly focuses on the environmental problems associated with the large amount of waste produced, but more so dives deeper into the people it is hurting. This film wants the audience to ask themselves if the cost of being fashionably relevant is worth the risks?
