Freewheel is an audio-visual representation of cycling, and the therapeutic nature that is often described as the freedom of being on a bike. Largely reliant on strong visuals, and an immersive soundscape, Freewheel puts the viewer on the bike.
I am a film maker and photographer specializing in the stories that come from people recreating in the great outdoor spaces we get to inhibit!
Free Wheel
I originally wanted to stay in my comfort zone, and create a documentary about the gold hill general store, and the cycling culture that is fostered there, but through a series of hurdles, I decided to go a different route and make a project that didn't use any spoken word, and was both visually and audibly poetic enough to make the viewers feel as if they had gone on a sort of bike ride, and experienced the therapeutic nature of riding bikes, as well as the community that is still fostered at the Gold Hill General Store.
