Lace and Grime is a multi-media installation project that immerses the viewers into Denver’s DIY music scene through an unconventional medium, a public access television show. Filmed entirely on VHS, the show is broken into short segments to emulate the visual quality of public access TV. The show features a live set followed by an interview and various segmented short stories. Lace and Grime contains an element of liveness inspired by past public access shows. This allows the viewer to feel as though they are watching the segments live. The installation consists of three pieces each including a television set and viewing area for the show. Through all of these elements, Lace and Grime provides an experience for the audience to immerse themselves in the world of DIY music.
