Late Summer Plums - Reede Ottenstein

Late Summer Plums is a singer/songwriter song based on a poem written by Caitlin C. Quirk. The track runs for about three and a half minutes with vocals recorded by me. The song is meant to feel easy to listen to. It is very calm and laid back.

Late Summer Plums is a very stripped-back singer-songwriter style song and involves minimal instrumentation, including acoustic/electric guitar and vocals. The predominant strumming pattern was recorded on an acoustic guitar and remains consistent throughout. The electric guitar was used for the riff that accompanies the chorus. With no percussion, the song feels very slow and relaxed. The vocals were recorded with my laptop speakers (which I have been advised against). Big thank you to Caitlin Quirk for writing the lyrics and to Reese Randolph for helping in recording the instrumentation. And to other friends and faculty who helped me with mixing and refining my project, I am very grateful. Cover art is also courtesy of my very talented sister, Tate Ottenstein.
