Bedroom Tunes is a four-song EP, dabbling in the genres of techno, ambient, and downtempo music. Each song has its own vibe, but when played in a sequence, together they make up Bedroom Tunes.

Bedroom Tunes is my first��EP. I produced the music with Logic Pro X, using my keyboard, beat pad, and a guitar. The four songs are named after the feeling they gave me when listening to them, or the samples I used in the songs. Each song has its own feeling when played, and some of the genres I experimented with could be considered techno, ambient, downtempo, and chillwave. The EP does not have any special meaning to it, since it lacks lyrics, but I created this piece with the intentions of giving listeners a good feeling when they hear these four songs.

Afterparty in Space

This is a very ambient song that reminds me of outer space. The bells give off the feeling of something out of this world. I intentionally added samples such as “prepare for hyperdrive” and “ access granted” in a robotic voice because I felt as if it added a spaceship feel. I could see this song being played in a club, since it has a trance feel to it, since it is somewhat repetitive with similar patterns. It gives me the feeling of going on a journey and puts me in a dream-like state. All of my songs have a happy vibe to them in my opinion, which is why I chose clouds as the album art. I feel as if clouds of a good representation of happiness, freedom, and dreaminess.

The Rhythm of Life

This song falls under the genre techno. It is fast-paced and makes you want to jump around or tap your feet to the beat. This would definitely be a good song to be played at a music festival. There are a lot of intricate drum patterns with many layers to them, and a funky synth that gives off an energetic vibe. This song gets its name from the sample at the beginning that says “in all of life there is a rhythm, all things living carry out this tune” right before the beat drop. I thought this would be a good title given that my intentions for this song were to be a happy, upbeat song, and the rhythm of life should be a good one.

Feeling Strange

This song could be considered downtempo. It is not very fast and has an ominous feel to it. The perfect setting for this song would be at a festival, maybe during a sunset. The only words that can be heard throughout the song are “don’t let them tell you you have to change, just because you feel a little strange.” The song gives off the feeling of freedom, even though the beat is slow and ominous.

Dollop of Daisy

This is another slow song, but the vibe on this one is much happier. I named it Dollop of Daisy because it reminded me of something you would hear in a sour cream commercial. The genre of this song could be considered chillwave. Guitar and horns are the most prominent instruments used in this song. This song could also be heard at a festival, but I can picture this being played at the beach on a warm day. It is meant to give off a very upbeat and happy feeling.
