Joseph Jacobs (1854-1916) was an Australian folklorist, translator, and writer of English literature. He was responsible for popularizing English fairytales such as “Jack the Giant Killer” and “The Three Little Pigs”. In addition to the publication of English fairytales, he was also well known for translating Indian, Jewish, and Celtic fairytales into English. Jacobs was regarded as one of the foremost experts on English folklore.
