What secrets lie beneath the surface of the streams and ponds in our area? What animal left those unusual tracks along the water鈥檚 edge? What kind of nest is that between the branches above? What is the name of that insect that buried its larvae beneath the mud? Are all things in a pond or stream ecosystem somehow connected? We will answer these questions and many more as we explore the water systems found throughout Boulder County. We will look at the smallest animals under a microscope and catch larger ones with a net. We'll make a diorama of an animal in its habitat聽and create cattails to learn about the importance of this plant in our local marshes. Join us for this watery outdoor adventure!

What to Bring:

  • Backpack for carrying personal items and any class materials they will be taking home.聽
  • Filled water bottle.
  • 2 or more聽snacks, depending on the child's needs.
  • Lunch that does not require refrigeration.
  • All programs spend a portion of each session outside. Please send your child with clothing appropriate for the weather (jacket, sweatshirt and/or rain jacket).
  • OPTIONAL:聽A mask or any additional Personal Protective Equipment the child will be utilizing.

鈥�Grade Policy:聽Careful consideration is used to determine grade levels for all camps and classes. To provide the highest quality experience for all students, it is necessary to adhere to the specified grade range for this program.

Cancellation and Transfer Policy:聽Science Discovery has designed its school year cancellation policy to minimize the number of class聽spots that are unused due to last-minute cancellations. Cancellations made more than 15聽days prior to the start of the class will incur a $35 administrative fee. No聽refunds will be given for cancellations made within 15 days of the start of the class. In the event that a class聽is cancelled by Science Discovery, registrants will receive a full refund.聽Transfer requests made up to 15 days prior to the start of a class will incur a $15聽administrative聽fee. Transfer requests made within 15聽days of the the start of a class will incur a $35 administrative fee.
