Biography

Dr. Amy Hutton is the associate vice chancellor for enrollment management at CU Boulder, where she oversees Admissions, Bursar, Financial Aid and Precollege Outreach and Engagement operations. Dr. Hutton is an internationally recognized expert in the intersection of Enrollment Management and Data Analytics, with many peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and accolades.  

Prior to joining CU Boulder in 2023, Hutton served as assistant vice president for enrollment management at The University of Alabama, overseeing admissions, recruitment, marketing, orientation and technology. Before that, Dr. Hutton served as the Director of Enrollment Research and Evaluation, Director of Admissions, Head of Stage Management, and Assistant Professor of Theatre at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Hutton's experience working on Broadway and as a statistician provides a unique lens to leverage data analytics for strategic enrollment management, while showcasing the power of storytelling.

Hutton has bachelor's degrees in music and communications from DePauw University; a master's degree in theatre pedagogy from Virginia Commonwealth University; and a doctorate in education research and evaluation from Virginia Commonwealth.Â
