If you need to park now, you should first choose an available permit/lot, then view the permit to request a lot change. You can switch lots to another available location or join a waiting list for a lot that is currently sold out. As permit cancellations are processed or as Parking Services identifies additional space availability, permits will be offered to the next person on the waiting list for that lot.</p> <p>Payment options include both pretax and post-tax payroll deductions which occur at the end of the month for which you had a permit. Permits with a start date on or after the 15th of the month will have their first month's price prorated to $30.00. It covers topics such as how to recognize concerning behavior and how to create a culture that is supportive of upstander reporting. It also includes scenarios that help participants put their knowledge into practice.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sarah Goodrum, research professor with CSPV, said knowing the warning signs for violence is an important first step. “Recognizing the concerning behaviors that can precede violent attacks can create opportunities for intervention and prevention, if they are also supported by a culture of upstander reporting,” she said.&nbsp;</p> <p>Upstanders are people who take steps to report safety-related concerns, and these upstanders’ tips can help avert violence. Concerning behaviors to look for can include escalating anger, unmanaged depression or isolation, changes in appearance, aggression, talk of being bullied and suicidal ideation or self-harm.</p> <p>Goodrum said one of the goals of the online course is to share knowledge so more people know what these warning signs look like, and how they should relay them to people who can help.</p> <p>“Just like the warning signs for any other health or wellness issue, such as cancer, heart disease or suicide, we should all know what the warning signs for violence look like and what to do when we see them,” Goodrum said, adding, “We need to know the signs and then report them to people who can help.”</p> <p>The online course points to available resources, which include Colorado’s <a href="https://cspv.colorado.edu/what-we-do/safe2tell/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Safe2Tell tip line - see the CSPV</a> and <a href="/dontignoreit/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Don’t Ignore It</a> websites. After completing this course, participants should be able to identify the warning signs for violence and methods for reporting safety-related concerns, as well as describe strategies for being an upstander.</p> <p>The training is supported by grants from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Colorado Department of Public Safety and builds upon CSPV’s <a href="/today/2023/10/12/cu-boulder-researchers-police-build-framework-violence-prevention" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">ongoing efforts</a> to enhance the university’s framework for violence prevention with ongoing support from the CU Boulder Police Department.&nbsp;</p> <p>As a reminder to staff, CU Boulder also has confidential support resources for the campus community.</p> <ul> <li>CU Boulder’s <a href="/support/sscm" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Student Support and Case Management</a> office connects students with assistance, such as mental health resources, support resources, and intervention for students. Purchases can be completed via the <a href="https://cuboulder.aimsparking.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">CU Boulder Parking Services portal</a>. Additionally, step-by-step instructions are available on the <a href="/pts/2021/08/05/parking-and-transportation-options-faculty-and-staff" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Parking and Transportation Options page</a>.</p> <p>A few important things to remember:</p> <ul> <li>You must use the CU Boulder Parking Services portal to purchase your day permit. It will not work on the ParkMobile app or the CU-specific ParkMobile website used in previous semesters.</li> <li>This rate applies to specific lots and is dependent on space availability. If possible, always check the parking portal for availability prior to parking in a specific lot.</li> <li>Permits are available for purchase to accounts in good standing, meaning accounts with a $0 balance due. For long term parking, select the Employee: Standard Parking option. Eligible frontline employees will choose the Employee: Frontline Discounted Parking option. Other permit options include online off campus permits, off peak permits, daily discounted permits, and motorcycle permits.<br> &nbsp;<br> In addition to selecting from the available lots, you also have the option to join a waiting list if your preferred lot is not available. If you need to park now, you should first choose an available permit/lot then view the permit to request a lot change. You can switch lots to another available location or join a waiting list for a lot that is currently sold out. As permit cancellations are processed or as Parking Services identifies additional space availability, permits will be offered to the next person on the waiting list for that lot.</p> <p>Payment options include both pretax and post-tax payroll deductions which occur at the end of the month for which you had a permit. Permits with a start date on or after the 15th of the month will have their first month's price prorated to $30.00. Ongoing deductions will continue until you submit a<a href="/pts/cancel-my-parking-access" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"> request for cancellation</a> of your permit.<br> &nbsp;<br> Requests for cancellation must be effective <em><strong>before the end of the month</strong></em> to avoid being billed for the next month.
