Taking a theatre orÌýdance course as an elective, general education requirement, as a degree requirement for majors,Ìýor for the experience is highly encouraged by our department! Projection design

THTR 4095-020:ÌýSpecial Topics in Theatre Design and Technology - Projection Design

The purpose of this class is to introduce students to the basic process, vocabulary, standards, and skills to understand and create projection designs for performance. Multiple software suites will be explored including leveraging skills the students already possess with preferred illustration and photo editing software. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will enhance their understanding of space, volume, and scale of projected images as they relate to the human form.Ìý Topics relating to both the hardware required for projection and the software required for content and playback will be explored.Ìý

vectorworks class

THTR 4095-001:ÌýSpecial Topics in Theatre Design and Technology -ÌýComputer-Aided Design/Vectorworks

The purpose of this class is to introduce students to the basic process, vocabulary, standards, and skills to understand and create technical drawings of theater scenery and lighting design utilizing the Vectorworks Spotlight software suite. The basics of 3D visualization will be introduced, but this course focuses primarily on the 2D concepts and tools. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will enhance their understanding of space, volume, and scale by creating industry standard drawing packages used to turn design ideas into reality.
