CU-Boulder students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a Community Meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at the University Memorial Center on campus to answer questions about the rape of a student off campus early Sunday morning and to learn more about campus counseling and other services available to the university community.

The meeting will be in the Glenn Miller Ballroom of the UMC and is open to all interested members of the campus community.

The meeting was planned Monday morning in the aftermath of the abduction and rape of a CU student early Sunday. The young woman was abducted while walking to her car from a friend's apartment in Boulder.

The Community Meeting will be convened by Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Ron Stump and followed by remarks from a Boulder police representative, Amy Robertson, director of CU's Victims Assistance and Michelle Richardson, a ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Student Union Tri Executive.

Participants will be able to ask questions or make comments to the entire group on open microphones, which will be followed by small group sessions on various topics including personal responses to the incident, action-oriented prevention activities and other topics.

Some of the services available to students, faculty and staff include counseling through Counseling and Psychological Services: A Multicultural Center and through Wardenburg Health Center's psychiatric services. Other services include special programs offered by the Housing Department's Residential Advisors and martial arts classes offered through the Recreation Center.
