A group of 24 teachers from across the United States will wrap up a four-week institute funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities on "Perceiving the American West" on Friday, Aug. 3, at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder.
The middle and high school teachers spent the past month learning about the American West through lectures, discussions and field trips. Several CU-Boulder professors were involved in the program.
The institute will end with a discussion in the Education Building, room 143, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The first hour will be spent discussing the program, followed by the handing out of T-shirts and goodbyes during the second hour. Reporters and photographers are welcome to attend.
The institute was conducted by the CU-Boulder Center of the American West and the Social Science Education Consortium.
