Special recognition ceremonies will be hosted by most ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder schools and colleges in addition to the main university commencement ceremony on Friday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium.

Following is a schedule of special events in the schools and colleges to honor the graduates and their families and guests.

* College of Architecture and Planning recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 9, at 7 p.m. in Muenzinger E050. Spenser Havlick, a professor in the College of Architecture and Planning and member of the Boulder City Council, will be the speaker.

* Leeds School of Business recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 9, at 4:30 p.m. in Coors Events/Conference Center. The school also will host a reception immediately following the university ceremony on May 10 in the Leeds School of Business building.

* Leeds School of Business MBA recognition ceremony, Friday, May 10, at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Jerry McMorris, chair of the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club and a member of the Major League Baseball Executive Council, will be the speaker.

* School of Education recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 9, at 6 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Richard Kraft, director of the Chancellor's Leadership Residential Academic Program at CU-Boulder, will be the speaker.

* College of Engineering and Applied Science recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 9, at 8 p.m. in the Coors Events/Conference Center. Bill Caile, P.E., retired CEO and chairman of Trautman and Shreve Inc., will be the speaker.

* Graduate School reception for doctoral students, Friday, May 10, at noon in Koenig Alumni Center.

* School of Journalism and Mass Communication recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 9, at 3 p.m. in Macky Auditorium, with a reception immediately following. Del Brinkman, who retired as dean of the CU-Boulder School of Journalism and Mass Communication in February 2002, will be the speaker.

* School of Law recognition ceremony, Friday, May 10, at 2 p.m. in Macky Auditorium, with a reception immediately following in the Kittredge Field tent. Robert E. Hirshon, president of the American Bar Association, will be the speaker. Hirshon also will present a question-and-answer session at noon in the Fleming Law Building.

* School of Music recognition ceremony and reception, Thursday, May 9, at 3 p.m. in Grusin Music Hall. The speaker will be Willie L. Hill Jr., a distinguished music educator, recording artist, scholar and performing jazz saxophonist who will receive an honorary degree from CU-Boulder during the university commencement ceremony.

Many departments in the College of Arts and Sciences will hold events to recognize their graduates. Many of these events may not be open to the public, and in some cases tickets may be required.
