The Udall Scholarship program is a prestigious national competition for undergraduates in fields related to the environment and for American Indian and Alaska natives in fields related to health care or tribal policy. Scholars are selected on the basis of academic merit.

The Morris K. Udall Foundation awards 80 scholarships of up to $5,000 and 30 students receive Honorable Mention awards of $350.

Weaver, a native of Steamboat Springs, is a CU-Boulder Boettcher and Norlin Scholar. She received a grant from the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program to study biochemical research on carcinogenic substances causing breast cancer. She has studied abroad in Prague and Madagascar and plans to pursue a master's degree in sustainable development.

Olin is from Cañon City and is also a CU-Boulder Norlin Scholar. She plans to pursue a doctorate in architecture and planning.

The government-mandated scholarship is named for the former Arizona congressman who served in office for 30 years. Udall was known for his love of the environment and concern for American Indian issues. He left a legacy of public service and fought for legislation on environmental public policy.
