The goal of the CHAisto spark dialogue around creativity, scholarship and humanism, and to support arts and humanities research.A dynamic centerfor collaboration and innovation, the center promotes arts and humanitiesby creating connections on campus, within the Boulder community and beyond.

“I am proud and privileged to be a steward of the CHA,” saysEthnic Studies Professor and CHA Director Jennifer Ho.

“Each time I learn about the incredible humanities scholars, brilliant faculty artists, graduate students engaged in innovative research, and undergraduate students and staff pursuing their artistic talents and humanistic interests, I am inspired and invigorated to amplify, supportand promote the richness of arts and humanities at CU Boulder.”

The25th anniversary celebration will be a discussion hub to look back and plan for how to promote, supportand celebrate the arts and humanities. Different hosts will facilitate conversations around a series of topics and questions, reflecting and anticipating the future of humanities and the arts.

“I saw the creation of the CHA as a mechanism to provide support to the humanities and arts in parallel with the extramural support available to the natural and social sciences. It is wonderful to see that the center has been so successful over the past 25 years,” says Peter Spear, who served as dean of the College of Arts and Science from 1996 to 2001and spearheaded the creation of the Center for Humanities & the Arts in 1998.
