At least one former Colorado football player is guaranteed to win a Super Bowl ring Feb. 5 when the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons square off in Super Bowl LI.

Today, Feb. 1, the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ will be one of 16 schools nationwide to be featured in ESPN's live reports of National Signing Day for the first time since 2006.

ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ football coach Mike MacIntyre, the near-unanimous national coach of the year, has signed a contract extension through the 2021 season, CU Athletic Director Rick George announced Monday.

The No. 11-ranked Colorado Buffaloes will face the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Valero Alamo Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 29. The football team arrived in San Antonio on Dec. 24 and have had a busy schedule of practice, media interviews and events.

CU cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, who played a major role in helping the Buffs produce their 2016 turnaround season, will wrap up his college football career with a host of awards and honors, including a bachelor's from the Leeds School of Business that took him just three and a half years to complete.

Former Colorado running back Rashaan Salaam was found dead Monday night in a Boulder park. "The Buff Family has lost an outstanding young man and a great Buff today," Athletic Director Rick George said. "We are heartbroken for Rashaan and his family and our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very difficult time."

For the second time in his head coaching career, Colorado coach Mike MacIntyre has led his team to a bowl berth.

The Buffs have been doing their best all week to treat this game just like they've treated every other game this year: a game they need to win. They are one win away from the Pac-12 football title and the program's first conference title since 2001.

CU head coach Mike MacIntyre has been named the Walter Camp 2016 Coach of the Year, joining Bill McCartney (1989) as the only coaches in Colorado history to be named the National Coach of the Year. The honor for MacIntyre comes on the heels of being named the Pac-12 Conference Coach of the Year on Tuesday.

It was by no means the best performance of the season for the Colorado offense, but when push came to shove, the Buffs offense did what was necessary in Saturday's 27-22 win over Utah.
