Buffs Coach Elliott announces inaugural CU Lacrosse schedule

The inaugural ŔÖ˛Ą´«Ă˝ lacrosse spring schedule includes eight home matches and nine conference bouts, head coach Ann Elliott announced Tuesday. The Buffs open home play on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 against Regis. “After being on the road for three games it will be exciting to finally be able to play at home,” Elliott said. “This will mark the first ever women’s Division I lacrosse game at CU and we are very excited to be able to play at home with the support of the community and our fans.”

CU-Fresno State football game postponed

Saturday’s football game between the ŔÖ˛Ą´«Ă˝ and Fresno State has been postponed, university officials decided Friday morning. After careful consideration, CU-Boulder Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano has decided that the university will not hold a football game on Saturday, Sept. 14, and that school officials will discuss a possible make-up date for the game.

If the distance and difficulty of Colorado’s many organized bicycling events is any indication, a flat, 100-mile bicycle ride is not, for many riders, quite tough enough. That’s one reason the 11th annual Buffalo Bicycle Classic’s longest route will go farther and climb higher than any of the event’s courses so far. The “Buff Epic” will span 110 miles and ascend a total of 6,250 feet. It retraces much of the most mountainous section of Stage 6 of the 2012 USA Pro Cycling Challenge.

New students will move in Aug. 20 through Aug. 22 with the majority of freshmen moving in on Aug. 22.

CU-Boulder to welcome students with convocation, music fest and more

Dozens of activities await new students at the ŔÖ˛Ą´«Ă˝ Boulder starting Aug. 22, including a welcome convocation, a Folsom Field pep rally and a “Global Jam” international food and music fest. The free events give new students a chance to get acquainted with each other, the campus and surrounding community before classes start on Aug. 26. The activities are scheduled in addition to orientation sessions that cover the details of class registration, policies and student services at each college.

CU athletes work smarter to build athletic success
