Six finalists have been named for the position of dean of the School of Law at the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder, according to Daniel Sher, dean of the College of Music and chair of the search committee.

The scientific concepts of light, polarization and optics will be explained through a number of experiments, including creating a giant soap bubble, during the Feb. 15 CU Wizards show "Liquid Crystals." ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder physics faculty members Noel Clark and Joseph Maclennan and chemistry Professor David Walba will present the show at 9:30 a.m. in Duane Physics room G1B30. The show, aimed primarily at students in grades five through nine, is free and open to the public.

MEDIA ADVISORY CU Hosts News Briefing on NASA Space Shuttle Columbia and Aftermath of Shuttle explosion The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder will host a news briefing at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at the Events/Conference Center on Regent Drive, room 4, to answer questions about CU's role in the Shuttle Columbia mission, the aftermath of the shuttle explosion and the possible effects of the tragedy on CU-Boulder space programs.

The ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ at Boulder and the CU Foundation have announced that Raymond and Dorothy Joyce have donated $3 million in a bequest to establish an endowed chair in finance at the Leeds School of Business. "The Joyce gift for an endowed chair allows us the opportunity to attract, honor and retain some of the best teaching and research talent in the nation," said Steven Manaster, dean of the Leeds School. "That talent, in turn, attracts leading students and other renowned faculty to our campus."
