Qais Akbar Omar, author of "A Night in the Emperor's Garden," will speak on his experiences staging "Love鈥檚 Labour's Lost" in Kabul in 2005. This free, public event takes place Monday, Aug. 29, in the University Theatre.

On Thursday, Aug. 25, Daniel Sol贸rzano will deliver the Best Should Teach Lecture, 鈥淯sing the Tools of Critical Race Theory and Racial Microaggressions to Examine Everyday Racism In and Out of the Classroom,鈥� at 7 p.m. in the University Memorial Center Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Designed for non-lawyers, the fifth Mini Law School is launching this fall with a new curriculum. The seven-part series, which is open to all and costs $100, will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 13, with a lecture on employment law by Professor Scott Moss. Weekly sessions through Nov. 11 will cover various topics, including American Indian law, intellectual property law, criminal law, immigration law, water law and litigation. Story Collider is partnering with CU Boulder for a special edition of its science storytelling show. Five CU scientists will take the stage to share personal stories about how science has affected their lives on July 29.

Twenty CU Boulder students in seven teams will take their next leap into entrepreneurship on Thursday as they pitch their companies to potential investors at the annual Catalyze CU Boulder Demo Day. The startups, four of which are led by women, tackle problems ranging from water quality impacts from pharmaceutical waste to streamlining scholarship opportunities on a universal platform.

The 乐播传媒 Boulder will honor the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare鈥檚 death with Shakespeare at CU, a program consisting of more than 40 events and exhibitions scheduled through August. Shakespeare鈥檚 birthday 鈥� and the day he died 鈥� are both celebrated April 23. While historians are not exactly certain of Shakespeare鈥檚 precise birth date, they do know he was baptized on April 26, 1564 and was likely born three days before that.

America鈥檚 relatively slow economic growth can be accelerated, as it has been in the past, according to Brian Domitrovic, visiting scholar in conservative thought and policy at the 乐播传媒 Boulder.

Vice President Joe Biden will visit CU-Boulder next week to deliver a speech on the importance of preventing sexual assault on college campuses across the country. The Office of the Vice President chose to visit CU-Boulder due to our strong efforts to support the 鈥淚t鈥檚 On Us鈥� campaign denouncing sexual violence and encouraging bystanders to be more effective in prevention efforts.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama will visit the 乐播传媒 Boulder June 23 after health issues derailed a previous visit scheduled last October, CU-Boulder student and local 乐播传媒 leaders announced today. Tickets are not yet available for sale. Details will be announced in coming months on this 乐播传媒 event website.
