Cadet Life
By joining Detachment 105, you will not only grow as a leader, but you will be inducted into a family of over 250 motivated individuals. Alongside these cadets, you will have the oppurtunity to participate in some incredible, unique experiences both inside and outside of Air Force ROTC. Apart from the weekly trainings that you will be required to attend, you will have the oppurtunity to take part in base visits, clubs, and specialized trainings. By virtue of spending so much time with your fellow cadets, many life-long friendships are created during your time in the program.

“ Before transferring to the ֲý, I was a Division 1 basketball player at a different universtiy. As I matured, my priorities shifted. I decided it was time to focus my efforts on the future and military service had always interested me. I joined AFROTC because I wanted to be a part of a team environment like I had been for the majority of my life through athletics and I absolutely got that sense of community. My favorite part of Det 105 is the togetherness that is felt throughout the detachment and the sense of team that is always present. In the future, I would like to be an air battle manager in the Air Force because not only does aviation really excite me, the thought of being a part of a team of pilots and other aviators really excites me as well.” - Cadet Jake Glezen, AS400, ֲý Boulder
“I grew up in a Air Force family and have moved 7 different times including 5 times overseas. As a 4th generation military officer in training, I want to carry on the legacy started by my great grandfather as well as continue the opportunities to travel, meet amazing people, and work my dream job. AFROTC has provided me with more than a rigorous and rewarding training environment; I have had the chance to train and study alongside incredibly motivated and talented individuals, make deep connections with new friends, and become a part of a high performance team. Det 105 has introduced me to the adventure that comes alongside a career in the Air Force, including unique opportunities and an environment that has really helped me to grow as a leader and a person. “I knew that I wanted to serve in the Air Force since I was in 6th grade, but when I got to high school I realized I also wanted to have a traditional college experience. When I found out about AFROTC and the potential to earn a full-ride scholarship, my mind was made and I decided to apply for the High School Scholarship Program (HSSP). It was a decision I certainly do not regret. Throughout the years, I have grown so much more than I ever anticipated, and have made friendships that will last a lifetime. Once I commission I hope to lead the way through innovation and collaboration, either as a pilot or as a civil engineer.
I would have to say my favorite part about AFROTC as a whole is the plethora of opportunities available. From getting involved in cadet-run clubs and visiting bases to participating in summer programs all over the country and the world, AFROTC provides options for all cadets to explore their interests. My favorite part about Det 105, in particular, is hands down the people in the program that I have had the privilege not only to work and sweat alongside but also to grow up with.
