There is beauty in hard things. I had an ant infestation in my room when I was seven. No matter how many times we tried, their window nest could never be sealed. I strive to create something that can quiet the constant revisiting of memories, begging for closure. A nostalgic bittersweet-ness, where sad music becomes comforting, lives within me still.

Delicate, repetitive strokes of graphite on paper, or of my hands on soft clay work to release the tension within. The resulting images give peace to the lingerings of the past, once and for all.

My work is about paying attention.

There is beauty in hard things.
