Artist Statement
_____ is a feeling. It flows and ebbs. It is fleshy and anthropomorphic. It isn鈥檛 rigid and it doesn鈥檛 have rules. _____ is being human and making mistakes. It is a belly with cellulite and a face with wrinkles. It is a mind ridden with worries. _____听 is funny, if you look at it with the right lens. It is messy, vulnerable, unpredictable. It is the universal notion that nothing is perfect.
As an artist, I create conversations surrounding the notion of vulnerability by making amusing, witty, and gaudy pieces of work. To me, 鈥淿____ 鈥� sums up the entirety of my practice through my exploration of human relationships between themselves and others. Through sculpture, installation, and performance I create a space for conversation surrounding the personal and societal issues encircling beauty standards, growing up, and bad habits. My artwork invites viewers to remember that we are all just a blob of _____ , mendable when broken and unique in its entirety.
