The Department of Cinema Studies and Moving Image Arts equipment check-out facility听(a.k.a. The Kage)听provides film students with the tools, supplies and services needed to produce film, video, animation and other creative works.

ATLAS 310 is a walk-in computer lab. No reservation needed :)

Kage Updates:听

  • C200 Camera Packages DO NOT come with Gold Mounts. They will be a seperate item available to 3400, 3515, 4500.听
  • Apexel Phone Lenses available to all classes.
  • Hollyland Mars Video Transmitters available to 3400, 3515 & 4500 Classes

Renting Film Equipment

A variety of film equipment is available for students to use throughout the academic year. Cinema Studies facilities and equipment is available听to students currently enrolled in听production courses within the department. Equipment accessibility is subject to the student's course level. Non-Cinema Studies students听are not allowed to rent Cinema听Studies equipment.

Cheqroom

The Kage uses Cheqroom to reserve Equipment/Studios. All Cinema Studies students听must sign a rental agreement and claim their Cheqroom account in order to rent gear.听

Many Labs/Studios are outfitted with specialty needs that become available to students who have taken the right courses/have been trained to use the equipment provided in each room.听Below is a quick list of what students have at their disposal and when they're available:听

ATLAS 310 Computer Lab (Walk-in):听Fall 2024 Open Lab Hours

  • Monday/Wednesday: 7am-9:45am, 12:30pm-3:15pm & 6pm Onwards
  • Friday-Sunday: All Day

ATLAS 345 Overflow Computer Lab (Walk-in): Fall 2024 Open Lab Hours

  • Monday-Sunday: All Day

*MACKY 1B02L Production Lab (Reservation Required): Fall 2024 Open Lab Hours

  • Monday/Wednesday: 7am-9:45am, 12:30pm-3:15pm & 6pm Onwards
  • Friday-Sunday: All Day

*ATLAS 306 Audio Lab (Reservation Required):听Fall 2024 Open Lab Hours

  • Monday-Sunday: All Day

*MACKY 2B27 Grey Box Studio (Reservation Required):听Fall 2024 Open Lab Hours

  • Monday/Wednesday:听7am-10:45am & 7:15pm Onwards
  • Tuesday: All Day
  • Thursday: 7am-11:45am & 7pm Onwards
  • Friday-Sunday: All Day

Classes may be scheduled in computer labs/studios. For Walk-in labs please reference the schedule听and double check you are not inturrupting.听
