Just over 1,000 new undergraduate students will be arrivingÌýsoon! We need help from faculty and staff to welcome them during the college'sÌýtwo-day Engineering Launch event on Aug. 20-21.ÌýWe have various volunteer shifts and days neededÌýstarting on Aug. 12.Ìý

Faculty Awards
Alireza Doostan of Smead Aerospace received a five-year, $1.15 million award from Stanford University (Prime – Department of Energy – NNSA) for “INSIEME: Integrated Simulations using Exascale Multiphysics Ensembles (INSIEME).â€
Dejan Filipovic of electrical, computer and energy engineering received a three-year, $1.5 million award from Office of Naval Research (N00014-21-1-2641) for “Enabling Technologies and Novel Apertures for Electronic Support and Surveillance from HF to W-Band.â€
Robert Nerem of Smead Aerospace received a three-year, $522,600 award from NASA (Washington DC Headquarters) for “Improvement and Validation of Sea Surface Height Measurements from ICESat-2 Laser Altimetry with Applications to Coastal Mean Sea Level.â€
Tom Yeh of computer science and Stacey Forsyth from the Center for STEM Learning Science Discovery Program received a four-year award for $1.5 million from the National Science Foundation for “Empathy-Driven Engineering Internships for Teens: Connecting Technical Work to Social Needs.â€
