The Engineering GoldShirt program provides an engineering pathway for students historically underrepresented in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Our purpose is to expand access to engineering and support students through community, academic support and access to resources. We work to ensure the success of these motivated students as they pursue their engineering degrees and become future innovators and leaders.
The GoldShirt Program is not accepting new scholars. Interested current and prospective/incoming students should apply to the through the CU General Scholarship Application.听
Community
Engineering GoldShirt students form an inclusive community and support system of students, mentors, staff and faculty. They prepare together for classes and grow long-lasting friendships. First and second year students live in Williams Village North as part of Engineering Connections. 乐播传媒 also participate in team-building activities and high contact mentoring, receiving advice and support from peer mentors.听
Program Support
乐播传媒 identify their strengths and explore learning strategies, leadership capabilities, professional development听and career interests through a summer Bridge Program and first year curriculum including the GoldShirt Self Management and Leadership courses.
Resources
Each student receives a participation scholarship. 乐播传媒 meet with a GoldShirt staff advisor in addition to their academic advisor. The GoldShirt advisor connects students to resources such as research opportunities, career preparation, and academic services. GoldShirt scholars are also active in the BOLD Center participating in events, study sessions, and community building activities. Many are members and leaders of the center鈥檚 nine affinity-focused student societies.

Academic Program Components
Successful completion听of the specialized first-year curriculum is required.听
- Living in Engineering Connections -听GoldShirt students live together in Williams Village North, a residential hall located in the Engineering Connections residential community.听This residential experience is designed to be a vibrant and cohesive academic excellence community for engineering students.听
- 鈥婼upportive & Inclusive Community -听Engineering GoldShirt students live and learn together, enjoying the culture of a small community within the larger engineering college. The Engineering GoldShirt Program is great for students who are looking for a supportive community of students with whom they can study and socialize.听
